Danny was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. His father was a lover of all country music, so he grew up listening to country and Western music on the radio and records; the likes of Hank Williams, Jimmy Rogers, and all the rest.
He grew to love the sound himself, as he got older he started hearing Jim Reeves, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Charlie Pride, Don Williams and he decided he wanted to get more involved in country and western music.
Danny taught himself rhythm guitar, and with a decent voice he started out on the pub and club circuit in and around Glasgow. When drum machines came on the scene it added a new dimension to his act allowing him to do more upbeat songs. He then started playing country music clubs, and started travelling all over the country from the north of Scotland to the south coast of England.
He moved to Manchester (which helped with the travelling with being half way he could travel up or down easier), and he then went through a lot of years playing the country music clubs and festivals and getting good reception from audiences everywhere.
Then due to the constant travellin, and the kind of life that entails (eating on the go, living out of a van, late nights and a few drinks) he suffered a heart attack and went through a triple by-pass operation. This kind of took his feet from under him and he was off the scene for quite a few years.
But now he's back home in Glasgow, fighting fit and with a new sound. He is using backing tracks proffesionally made for him and plays 12 string guitar and the voice is still as good (if not better). So have a listen to his music, and come and see him at one of his gigs.
